Switch Grass ‘Cheyenne Sky’

Panicum virgatum ‘Cheyenne Sky’ is a compact native switch grass for zones 4-9 that performs best in full sun with low to medium water. Blue-green foliage emerges in spring and gradually transforms to brilliant wine-red from the tips down, creating a stunning two-toned effect by midsummer. Matching burgundy-red panicles appear in late summer, adding soft texture. This heat and drought-tolerant selection is ideal for smaller gardens, containers, or mass plantings where you want reliable fall color.
