Pots and planters for porches, patios and houseplants at both stores. Pick a pot with a drainage hole and size it a couple of inches wider than the plant’s current pot.
We carry these at both stores — they just aren’t in our online catalog yet. Please call South Portland or Westbrook for what’s in today.
Frequently asked questions
Do pots need drainage holes?
Yes — without a hole, water collects at the bottom and rots the roots.
Can I leave pottery outside in a Maine winter?
Clay and ceramic pots can crack when wet soil freezes. Empty them and store them dry, or choose frost-proof planters.
What size pot should I use?
Go one to two inches wider than the current pot for houseplants; bigger pots dry out more slowly outdoors.
